What this site is

Birmingham Dryer Vent Cleaning is a free quote service. You tell us about your dryer vent through a short form, and we pass your request to independent local dryer vent cleaning companies that work in your part of the metro. A company then contacts you, looks at the vent run and gives you a quote. Using the service costs you nothing, and you are never obligated to hire anyone.

Requests cover the full range of dryer vent work: routine dryer vent cleaning with airflow testing, repair, rerouting and replacement, roof and second-story vents, bird nest and pest removal, vent cover replacement and apartment and commercial dryer vents.

What this site is not

We are not a dryer vent company. Nobody from this site comes to your home, and we don't clean, inspect, repair or install anything. The companies you hear from are separate, independent businesses. They set their own prices, schedules and terms, and any agreement you make is between you and the company you choose.

We also don't rate or rank companies, and we make no promises about any company's work. That is why the next section matters: a few simple questions help you compare quotes and pick a company you are comfortable with.

The prices on this site, including our dryer vent cleaning cost guide, are typical national ranges from published cost guides. They are estimates, not quotes. A real price depends on vent length, the number of stories, roof access and the condition of the vent.

What to ask any dryer vent company

Before you book, ask the company for these and compare the answers side by side:

  • A city business license. The City of Birmingham says a license is required before a business starts work in the city, and each suburb issues its own.
  • Proof of liability insurance. Ask for a certificate of insurance. For roof vents, ask whether their coverage includes roof work.
  • A written quote. It should say what is included: cleaning the full run, the transition duct behind the dryer, the exterior hood or roof cap, and before-and-after airflow readings if they take them.
  • HACR certification, if they also clean air ducts. Alabama's HVAC board (the Alabama Board of Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors) requires certification for HVAC air duct cleaning, so a company selling an air duct add-on should be able to show it.

Alabama rules, in brief. Under Alabama's Home Builders Licensure Board law, a license applies to residential repair or improvement jobs over $10,000 (over $2,500 for residential roofing). Typical dryer vent jobs cost far less. For a new vent route through a wall or the roof, check with your city's permit office. This is general information, not legal advice.
